Danai Gurira reuniting with Lupita Nyong’o for Black Panther

Actress Danai Gurira is reuniting with Lupita Nyong’o onscreen after joining the cast of superhero movie Black Panther.
The 12 Years A Slave star recently starred in the Broadway production of Gurira’s play Eclipsed, and now the two ladies are teaming up once more for the comic book blockbuster.
The Walking Dead star joined Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan, and leading man Chadwick Boseman at Comic-Con in San Diego, California on Saturday (23Jul16) as director Ryan Coogler unveiled the full cast of the forthcoming Marvel film.
“One of the most amazing things about (fictional country) Wakanda is they have these women who are the best fighters in the kingdom,” he said, as he introduced Nyong’o as Nakia and Gurira as Okoye, members of the secret service group Dora Milaje.
Chadwick Boseman, who made his debut as Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War earlier this year (16), also addressed the crowds after Coogler welcomed the “incredible actor” to the fabled Hall H.
“I cannot wait to unmask all of it for you,” the excited star said, as he made his first-ever appearance at Comic-Con. “I am literally vibrating inside.”
Black Panther also reunites Coogler with his Creed and Fruitvale Station star Jordan, who will take on the movie’s villain, Erik Killmonger.
The Marvel movie is set for release in February, 2018.
