Deep Purple are music fans’ top tip for Hall of Fame in 2016

DEEP PURPLE have emerged as music fans’ top pick for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2016, according to a new poll.
The heavy rock supergroup have topped a new Rolling Stone magazine readers’ countdown of the top 10 acts that should be inducted into the Hall Of Fame next year.
Many music fans were surprised when Deep Purple were left off the list this year (15).
Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra comes in at two on the new poll, while progressive-rock superstars Yes are third.
Cheap Trick, Chicago, late singer/songwriter Warren Zevon, Little Feat, Iron Maiden, The Moody Blues and The Smiths also make the new list.
Last month (Apr15), the Rock Hall’s 30th annual induction ceremony honoured Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Lou Reed, Ringo Starr, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Bill Withers and the 5 Royales.
