Delays singer to publish poetry collection about cancer battle

Delays frontman Greg Gilbert will see the poetry he wrote about his battle with bowel cancer published in a new collection.
The British indie rocker was diagnosed with the disease in October, 2016 and after receiving the devastating news, Gilbert began writing about his ordeal.
His new book Love Makes a Mess of Dying, which also features his own illustrations, will be published in February (19) and has also been selected to appear in the Laureate’s Choice series in May (19) by poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.
“A cancer diagnosis is so traumatic and you’re left trying to understand the new thing you’ve become and how it relates to what you were,” Gilbert tells NME of his poetry. “Everything requires re-framing and poetry has allowed me to do that.”
