Disneyland reopening date and details, with “plenty of magic” promised

Disney promises that most attractions will be available, while certain attractions and experiences like parades and nighttime spectaculars will not yet resume due to safety reasons.

Disney promises surprise appearances by favorite Disney friends, too! You may spot characters “waving to visiting friends, posing in the background of photos, and having fun playing in the parks. At Disneyland park, you may see Mickey Mouse and some of his celeb pals from the steps of the Main Street, U.S.A. railroad station. Or perhaps they may be found outside their homes in Mickey’s Toontown, waving a friendly welcome to visitors of all ages.”

If you wish to return to Disneyland, you have to get both a park reservation and a valid ticket for any Guests ages 3 and up. For now, only California residents are allowed to visit the parks and can’t be with more than 3 households per group based on state guidelines.

What about the Disneyland hotels and Downtown Disney?

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa reopens on April 29 while the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will remain closed for now. Hotel details can be found here. The Downtown Disney District is open with select retail and dining locations.

In an update, Disney shared that “upon reopening, certain parks, hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences, and other offerings will be modified or unavailable, will have limited capacity, and will be subject to limited availability or even closure, and park admission and offerings are not guaranteed.”
