DMX continuing rehabilitation treatment ahead of tax fraud trial

Rapper Dmx is continuing his drug rehabilitation treatment ahead of his tax evasion trial.
The Party Up (Up in Here) musician, 46, appeared in Manhattan Federal Court on Thursday (05Oct17) at a hearing where his trial date was set for February (17). He is accused of failing to pay $1.7 million (£1.3 million) in taxes to America’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
In August (17) DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was placed under was placed under house arrest after testing positive for cocaine and marijuana, a violation of his bail conditions.
He was given permission to check-in to a rehabilitation facility in New England to battle his demons, and outside the court his lawyer Stacey Richman updated fans on his progress, telling the New York Daily News that her client was still receiving treatment.
DMX also said, “I’m feeling good” as he left the New York City court.
The rehab stint is DMX’s second this year (17) as in April he checked into a treatment centre in California in April.
The father of four has a history of drug-related legal issues and was sentenced to six months in 2015 for failing to pay child support.
