Eddie Redmayne can’t grow facial hair

Actor Eddie Redmayne always has to wear fake facial hair onscreen because he cannot grow anything close to a beard.
The Danish Girl star, who is known for his clean-shaven look, reveals he spent weeks attempting to grow some thick stubble for a recent role, but his efforts proved useless.
“Genuinely, I recently did a film and they tried to make me grow facial hair, and I tried for three weeks and there’s this sort of, massive alopecia patch (on his neck),” he laughed on U.S. show Watch What Happens Live.
Eddie, 36, shared the news after he was shown an old snap Jennifer Garner had posted on social media, in which she was disguised as a man, with short, lightened hair, and a trimmed beard. In the caption, the actress explained the photo had been taken in preparation for an unnamed movie in 2011, which never came to fruition.
Fans were quick to note the striking similarities between Garner and Redmayne, an opinion the Brit agreed with, joking, “Except she can grow more facial hair than me!”
