Elton John to scale back touring after Australian shows

SIR ELTON JOHN is to step away from touring after playing a series of farewell shows in Australia later this year (15).
The Rocket Man is embarking on a 2015 world tour, and he has confirmed his upcoming trek Down Under will mark his final live appearances before a long hiatus so he can spend more time with his two sons, Zachary, four, and Elijah, two.
He says in a statement, “The simple truth is I want to spend more time with my family and less time touring. I am only too aware of just how precious the time ahead is. My sons are growing up so quickly, their early years are just flying by and I want to be there with them. So this (tour) will give me one last chance to say farewell to the people who have been so faithful to me over the decades.”
The Australian leg of the All The Hits tour kicks off in Hunter Valley on 5 December (15) before heading to Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide and finishing in Sydney on 19 December (15).
