Elvis Presley’s private jet heading to auction block

A private jet previously owned by Elvis Presley is set to hit the auction block after spending the past three decades sitting on a runway in New Mexico.
The red 1962 Lockheed Jetstar used to be a prized possession of the rock and roll legend and his father, Vernon Presley, and the plane features Elvis’ designer touch with red velvet seats and red shag carpet.
The pricey piece of memorabilia has been adorning a tarmac in Roswell, New Mexico for more than 30 years, but now the current owner is seeking to offload the aircraft.
The jet, which has no engines and is in need of restoration in the cockpit, will go under the hammer as part of the GWS Auctions Inc. sale on 27 May (17), reports The Associated Press.
It is expected to sell for between $2 million (£1.5 million) and $3.5 million (£2.7 million).
