Actress Emma Thompson is set to receive the Modern Master Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The British star will be feted for her career accomplishments on 8 February (14) at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, California.
Festival executive director Roger Durling, says, “With the distinction of being the only artist to win an Oscar for both Best Actress and Best Screenplay, Ms. Thompson exemplifies the spirit of the Modern Master.”
Previous recipients include Sir Anthony Hopkins, Clint Eastwood and Christopher Plummer.
Cate Blanchett, Daniel Day-Lewis and Ben Affleck will be among the many celebrities who will be honoured at the 29th annual California film festival.
