Favourite George Sanders picks up 2017 Booker Prize

Author George Sanders has picked up the 2017 Man Booker Prize for his first full-length novel.
The American author’s historical tale Lincoln In The Bardo was a clear favourite heading into Tuesday’s (17Oct17) announcement.
The 58-year-old was presented with an award and $66,000 (£50,000) during a ceremony at the Guildhall in London.
Saunders is only the second American author to take home the coveted literary title, after Paul Beatty won the honour last year (16) with The Sellout.
Two fellow Americans made it to this year’s Booker Prize shortlist – Paul Auster and Emily Fridlund, while Brits Mohsin Hamid, Fiona Mozley and Ali Smith also made the final count.
