Former ‘Power Rangers’ Star Sentenced to Six years for Roommate’s Death

Actor Ricardo Medina, Jr. has been sentenced to serve six years behind bars for the stabbing death of his roommate.

The former Power Rangers star was accused of using a samurai sword to kill Joshua Sutter, 36, following a heated argument over the actor’s girlfriend in their Palmdale, California home in January, 2015.

Medina, Jr., who maintained he acted in self-defenze, had been facing 26 years to life in prison after he was slapped with a murder charge last year (16), but he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter earlier this month (Mar17).

He was given the maximum sentence during a hearing on Thursday (30Mar17), reports TMZ.com.

The 38-year-old was originally arrested and released without charge in 2015, but sheriff’s investigators continued looking into the case, and Medina, Jr. was taken into custody again a year later (Jan16), when he was charged with murder.
