Garth Brooks was Trisha Yearwood’s weight-loss inspiration

Singer Trisha Yearwood embarked on a major health overhaul after learning her husband Garth Brooks was set to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards – because she felt he deserved to walk the red carpet with sexy “arm candy”. The How Do I Live hitmaker has lost a whopping 30 pounds (14 kilograms) in the last fourth months after adding more vegetables to her diet and amping up her gym routine – and Yearwood admits her main source of weight-loss inspiration was a form-fitting Stella McCartney dress she planned to wear to the Las Vegas awards ceremony in support of her husband on 7 April (13).
She tells People magazine, “I’d been working hard and losing inches, but I wondered, ‘Can I fit into that?’ It was tight (but,) I felt confident. It was a wow dress.”
And while Yearwood is proud of her new look, she insists it’s an everyday battle to stay on track with her diet, adding, “I don’t think you can name one diet I haven’t done. I’m that girl who buys every magazine where somebody’s lost 30 pounds. But I guess part of me didn’t want to hear that it’s just really hard work!
“I don’t have it all figured out. But right now I’m having more days that I win the battle than days I lose.”
But she confesses she still has her cheat days, admitting the first thing she did after the ACM Awards was splurge on a tasty meal on the plane back to Oklahoma to reward herself for all her hard work, explaining, “We got on the plane, the sweats were on, and I had an In-N-Out burger with fries and two dark chocolate Reese’s (peanut butter) cups!”
