Gillian Anderson designs capsule collection for Winser London

Gillian Anderson has designed a capsule collection for U.K. fashion brand Winser London.

The actress, known to millions for her performances in TV shows such as The X-Files and The Fall, has also built up a reputation for her sophisticated personal style in recent years, often stepping out on the red carpet in elegant dresses and effortlessly chic ensembles.

Now, Gillian is putting her flair for fashion to work for Winser London, the contemporary womenswear label set up by Kim Winser in 2013.

“The detail is important to me – the quality of the materials, the cut, the lining and where all the materials are sourced, as well as a clear knowledge of the supply chain,” she told WWD. “Fortunately, the Winser London team thinks the same way, and working with them to create the collection has been a really wonderful, holistic experience.”

Gillian’s five-piece line marks her first foray into the fashion business. The collection features a pair of slim-leg trousers, a cashmere sweater, a roll-neck jumper as well as two coats.

Kim, the former chief executive officer of brands such as Pringle of Scotland and Aquascutum, explained that the garments are “representative” of Gillian’s personal style.

And as the label executive is looking to make a major expansion into the U.S. market, the 49-year-old actress was a natural choice to partner with on a collection, especially considering that she has long split her time between London and America.

Gillian’s Winser London collection will be priced from $200 – $535 and will be available to buy from the label’s boutiques and online from September (18).

Model Yasmin Le Bon has previously created a fashion collection for Winser London and also starred in advertising campaigns.
