Gwyneth Paltrow to be Honored at Baby2Baby Gala

Gwyneth Paltrow will be honored at the upcoming Baby2Baby Gala.

The actress and entrepreneur will be presented with the Giving Tree Award at the fundraising event held in Los Angeles on 11 November (17), representatives for the non-profit organization have confirmed.

Baby2Baby co-presidents Kelly Sawyer Patricof and Norah Weinstein stated that Gwyneth was a clear choice when it came to choosing an honoree, as the Goop lifestyle brand founder often uses her public profile to advocate on behalf of low-income children.

“Throughout Gwyneth’s long history of philanthropic work, she has been a champion of issues ranging from improving education, to fighting poverty, to combatting hunger in underserved communities,” they said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Gwyneth’s dedication to children in need perfectly embodies the Baby2Baby spirit.”

Baby2Baby provides low-income children up to 12 years of age with diapers, clothing and basic necessities, and distributes items to non-profit partner organizations including homeless and domestic violence shelters, Head Start programs, and children’s hospitals – serving more than 150,000 children in Los Angeles and thousands of others throughout the U.S.

Board members include Hollywood names such as Julie Bowen, Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba, with past Giving Tree Awards going to Drew Barrymore, Kate Hudson, Kerry Washington and Jennifer Garner.

The 2017 Baby2Baby gala is sponsored by Paul Mitchell, and will be held at 3Labs.
