Ian Ziering’s ex-agent drops lawsuit over 90210 reboot

Actor Ian Ziering will no longer have to fight his former talent agents in court over a commissions dispute after they decided to drop the lawsuit.
The Sharknado star was sued by bosses at Kazarian/Measures/Ruskin & Associates, Inc. last month (Apr19), claiming the 55 year old had reneged on the terms of their previous contract by refusing to pay them a cut of earnings from the upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot.
According to legal papers obtained by The Blast, Ziering’s then-agent brought the project to his attention last summer (18), but the actor soon dumped the firm and ended up signing on to the gig without his former representative’s continued help.
The plaintiffs argued they were entitled to their 10 per cent cut of his earnings from the show, but Ziering refused to pay up, forcing KMR executives to subpoena his co-star, Jason Priestley, for access to private text messages between the two.
Now it appears agency officials have since had a change of heart and will no longer be pursuing the case in court.
They have filed new papers seeking the dismissal of all claims made against Ziering, and have requested the case be closed.
It’s not clear if the two sides had managed to reach a private settlement.
Ziering and Priestley are reuniting with Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling for the six-episode reboot, titled BH90210, in which they will each play heightened versions of themselves.
It premieres in August (19).
