Jake Owen injured in motorcycle accident

Country star Jake Owen is on the mend after a motorcycle accident on Thursday (26May16).
The American Country Love Song singer crashed his bike while travelling to a tour stop in Herrin, Illinois.
Shortly after the accident, he took to Twitter to share the news with fans, assuring them he will be taking the stage on Thursday night as planned.
“Supposed to be headed towards Herrin, IL for show, instead headed for Emergency Room,” he wrote. “I’ll make Herrin.. No worries. Show must go on.”
A few hours later, Jake returned to Twitter to give followers an update, writing, “All good, and on the road to Herrin, IL… Some stiches (sic) and I’m back at it.. See y’all tonight. #iwreckedmybike.”
He also shared a photo of himself at the hospital, showing off a long, nasty cut on his forearm which was sewed up with stitches.
Jake added the caption, “After stitches… Sometimes in life, you fall. That’s when you get back up again, and walk it off.”
This isn’t the first time Jake’s been involved in an accident leaving him with injuries – in 2013 he shattered bones in his right ring finger and had to have half of it amputated following a Go Kart crash. In 2012, he broke his collarbone while snowboarding.
The motorcycle accident comes ahead of busy summer for Jake – he’s slated to appear at a number of music festivals throughout the U.S., and will make a special appearance at Kenny Chesney’s Spread The Love Tour at Arlington, Texas’ massive AT&T Stadium next weekend (04Jun16).
