James Franco has made a killing on the Los Angeles property market after selling off his Silver Lake home for almost double what he paid for it in 2012.
The 39-year-old actor has sold the two-bedroom Spanish-style pad he bought from Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant for over $1.3 million (GBP980,000) – a big profit on the $775,000 (GBP587,000) he paid for the place five years ago.
Sources tell WWD.com, the 127 Hours star put the hillside property on the market for $949,000 (GBP718,000), sparking a bidding war for the home, which comes with views of the Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood sign.
The place previously belonged to Princess Tatiana von Furstenberg, the daughter of Diane von Furstenberg and Prince Egon von Furstenberg.
