Jennifer Lopez keeps iconic Versace dress on a mannequin in her closet

Jennifer Lopez keeps her iconic green Versace dress on a “little mannequin” in her closet.
The superstar made a splash at the Grammy Awards in 2000 when she stepped out in the silk chiffon number with a very low neckline, with the garment garnering her significant media coverage and catapulting her to international fame.
Jennifer still has the dress in her possession, and during a chat with USA Today, explained that it takes pride of place in her undoubtedly large wardrobe.
“It lives in my house. It’s on a little mannequin in my house,” she said, going on to share exactly where she stores the garment. “No, (it’s not in the living room). That would be creepy and weird. It’s like in a closet. It’s on a dress form.”
The dress was originally worn by Amber Valletta at a Versace fashion show in 1999. The 44-year-old model wore a similar ensemble at the Italian luxury brand’s pre-fall 2019 collection presentation in New York City earlier this month (Dec18), however, Jennifer is adamant that she won’t be wearing the updated design.
“I did the whole Versace thing again. I think I’m done with that,” the 49-year-old smiled.
In 2000, Jennifer’s dress had a market value of approximately $15,000 (£12,000). Yet, the Second Act star is adamant that the item is worth much more, considering that Google co-founder Sergey Brin and former executive chairman Eric Schmidt confirmed in 2015 that the attention the dress received at the time of the Grammys led to the creation of Google Images.
“Sergey needs to send me my cheque. Get on it,” she joked.
