Jermaine Jackson blasts U.K. TV network trying to book Conrad Murray onto reality show

Jermaine Jackson has labelled British television network ITV “despicable” for considering Conrad Murray as a contestant on the next series of show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
Rumours emerged earlier this week that Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for his part in the 2009 death of Jermaine’s brother Michael Jackson after an overdose of prescription drugs, was in discussions about signing up for the jungle-based reality show.
Following the claims, Jermaine took to his Twitter page in a bid to convince ITV and presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly to reconsider hiring Murray for the programme.
“Jurors didn’t believe a word out of Conrad Murray’s mouth. Nor should anyone now. He & his trashy book can’t be taken seriously. #clown,” he wrote. “Murray’s recklessness killed Michael, and his book-promoting lies are transparent: the desperate deflections of a guilty, odious man.
“Also, Conrad Murray reportedly in talks re UK show ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here!’ No way @itv & @antanddec can stoop so low.”
He continued: “I urge @itv to maintain sense of decency & not use Michael’s death/killer for sick entertainment value. Despicable to even consider it. Every fan should lobby @itv and @antanddec to ensure they do the right thing, and NOT reward Michael’s killer w/$$$ & spotlight.”
Jermaine later updated his followers that he has yet to hear from ITV, adding: “Silence from @itv re our concerns that Murray is being lined up for ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ All producers have to say is ‘No, he won’t feature’
“As @CEThomson points out, Murray “is only famous for killing someone”. That someone was Michael, a son, brother, uncle, father, legend @itv. And IF @itv mngmnt/producers equate Murray’s criminality with ratings, then their moral compass is hideously skewed. We await a response…”
ITV refused to comment on line-up rumours when contacted, but Murray’s spokesperson Max Markson later confirmed that his client is in discussions with network bosses over an appearance on the show.
“It is true. We are talking to the show’s producers about having Conrad in the jungle for the next show,” he said, according to the Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper.
