Jessica Chastain terrified about playing Tammy Wynette

Jessica Chastain is terrified about performing as country music singer Tammy Wynette in an upcoming biopic.
The Zero Dark Thirty actress will star alongside Josh Brolin in a film about the Stand By Your Man singer and George Jones, her third husband and duet partner.
Jessica has only previously displayed her vocals in a creepy lullaby onscreen in Crimson Peak, so she will show off her proper singing voice for the first time in the biopic.
The star admits she is terrified, and if rehearsals go badly, she may not sing at all.
“Well, there’s going to be some preparation in terms of music,” she told The Huffington Post. “Listen, I’m an actor who sings. I’m never going to go and open a band. I’m terrified about it. We’ll see how it goes when I go and start prep. Who knows? I may not sing. I’m leaving every option open.”
To prepare for the role, she has been watching a lot of videos of Tammy and has also read The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George by the country music couple’s only child, Georgette.
Speaking of her co-star, Jessica adds, “I’m just super excited to work with Josh Brolin. I can’t imagine anyone else playing George Jones. He’s so right for that. I don’t know if you’ve read the script, but it’s so dynamic and so exciting and sexy.”
Josh serves as producer on the project, which has been in the works for some time. He first mentioned it in an interview in August, 2015 and discussed it again on U.S. talk show Conan in February (16).
The couple, which sang songs such as We’re Gonna Hold On, Let’s Build A World Together, and Golden Ring, had a rocky six-year marriage thanks to George’s addiction to alcohol and drugs. The stars continued to work together after their divorce in 1975.
