Jessica Simpson trying to ‘celebrate the small victories’ as a mother-of-three

Jessica Simpson has to constantly remind herself to “celebrate the small victories” as a new mother-of-three because juggling her family duties has been “challenging”.
The singer and her husband Eric Johnson welcomed daughter Birdie on 19 March (19), and Jessica has been open about the struggles she has faced adapting to her growing brood, which she found especially hard as she recovered from her Caesarean section.
Now the star, who enjoyed her first night out with Eric over the Easter weekend (19-21Apr19), is working on finding a good balance with the baby and her sister Maxwell, six, and five-year old brother Ace.
“Three is challenging,” she admits to People magazine. “We are trying to get into the groove and make sure all three kids are getting equal attention… It’s more than a full-time job right now.”
There are times when Jessica simply cannot find a way to keep all three happy, so she allows herself to just give in to the tears: “The other night, all three kids were crying at the same time, so I just joined in! Ha!” she laughs.
Despite the rough periods of parenthood, Jessica believes she and Eric are “definitely more relaxed” the third time around, as they no longer have the “whirlwind” of activity they faced when Maxwell and Ace were born just over a year apart.
“We are trying our best to be as present as possible and enjoy every part of having a newborn,” she explains. “We know how fast the time goes and how precious it is.”
And Jessica insists her family-of-five is “doing well”, all things considered, and everyone is “so in love” with little Birdie.
“(Birdie) makes our family complete,” she says. “Someone once told me to keep in mind that everything is a phase with infants and kids… (I’m) trying to remember that fact, and celebrate the small victories.”
