Joe Jonas’ team files police report over trespasser

A person was reportedly caught trespassing on Joe Jonas’s property last week (end11Feb18).

The DNCE star’s home surveillance cameras picked up footage of a person outside his property in the San Fernando Valley in California around 9pm local time on Thursday (08Feb18), law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com.

In the footage, the person could be seen tampering with security cameras before triggering an alarm, which scared the trespasser away as it then took off.

A member of Joe’s team were notified about the security alarm immediately afterwards and went to the property to look into it. Nothing had been stolen or damaged so they filed a report for trespassing with the police and officers are now investigating the case.

According to the website, it is thought the singer’s security system saved him from being the latest celebrity burglary victim. There has been a spate of burglaries at celebrity homes in California in the past couple of years, with the likes of Alanis Morrisette, Nicki Minaj, Emmy Rossum, Mariah Carey and Jason Derulo being robbed.

“They don’t take televisions or laptops or iPads,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Michael Maher, a member of the agency’s specialized burglary task force, told the Associated Press in March (17). “Typically it’s a hunt for cash, jewelry and weapons.”

Although the burglaries share similarities, authorities reportedly don’t believe a single group is responsible or that the celebrities were targeted on purpose, believing the culprits simply identify lavish houses that appear empty.

Joe, who is engaged to Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, is currently out of the country, as he has recently posted pictures from his vacation in Australia on Instagram.
