Kelly Clarkson will prepare for chat show run with nightly tour webisodes

Kelly Clarkson plans to prepare for her U.S. chat show debut by rehearsing skits with friends before her upcoming tour dates.
The singer confirmed she would be hosting a daytime talk show in 2019 on Tuesday night (18Sep18) and then hit news show Access Live to reveal how she’s getting ready for the new gig.
“We’re actually doing this thing on tour, where we’re pre-gaming for my talk show,” she explained. “We’re going live every night on tour and doing a minute and a glass of wine webisode kinda thing… All my worlds are coming together.”
The Since U Been Gone hitmaker has already filmed a pilot for the new series, and told late-night host Jimmy Fallon, who will become an NBC network pal next year, “I didn’t think I’d ever do it. I love talking. It’s like, my favourite pastime… It’s hard for me to shut up though. Like, you know, you have to listen to people that come on your show. And I just keep talking.”
The 36-year-old announced her new project will air directly before The Ellen DeGeneres Show, adding her touring band will double as the programme’s house band.
“My show’s actually gonna be a little different than anything that’s been on because I’m still touring,” she said. “I still have music. So it’s kind of one of those things where my band is on the road with me or they’re on the show with me. We sing every day on the show and do this fan request thing. It’s fun. In the pilot, I got people to sing with me and do little skits. It’s very musical.”
