Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn gave Anna Faris the OK for Overboard remake

Anna Faris was given a big boost just before she started shooting the new Overboard remake when Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn gave her their blessing.
The movie veterans, who played lovers in the original, took Anna and her then-husband Chris Pratt out to dinner in London, when the two men were promoting Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, and they wanted to know all about the remake.
“Kurt said, ‘We’re going out for dinner… I heard you’re doing our movie’,” she recalls. “A few hours before, my palms were sweating about what they were going to say because the way he presented it, it felt like I had my work cut out for me.
“By the end of the dinner we were all happy. We talked about Goldie and Kurt’s experience during the movie, which was a lot of love and joy that they had making the movie together. Kurt was like, ‘Alright we give you our blessing!’ And he picked up the cheque! I got the impression they were happy.”
While Kurt played a hard-up handyman and Hawn a socialite in the 1987 film, Anna plays a downtrodden single mum who tricks a Mexican yacht owner into thinking he’s her husband after he loses his memory. Eugenio Derbez plays her partner in the remake.
