Led Zeppelin once stole The Who’s feast

Robert Plant and his Led Zeppelin bandmates were once mistaken for The Who and fed for free at fabled New York diner Max’s Kansas City.
The heavy rockers left before the encore of The Who concert nearby almost 50 years ago and decided to try the hard-to-book Max’s Kansas City.
Surprisingly, Plant and company were swiftly seated.
“We walked in the door and they said, ‘Wow, you’re early’,” Plant told radio host Howard Stern. “And we said, ‘Yeah, yeah, it was an early show’. So we went in and ate all the band’s food and ran away.”
Plant insists the fact he looked a lot like The Who frontman Roger Daltrey at the time helped: “I looked a little bit like Roger Daltrey, but a bit taller,” he said.
