Liam Gallagher abandons Lollapalooza Chile gig due to chest infection

Liam Gallagher abandoned his set at Lollapalooza Festival in Santiago, Chile on Sunday (18Mar18) after struggling to sing due to a chest infection.
The former Oasis rocker was on the bill alongside acts including The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lana Del Rey.
However, footage posted by fans on Twitter shows Liam halting his set halfway through and saying, “My voice is absolutely smashed. I’m not just going to stand here all night screaming out for everybody sounding f**king horrific”.
Amid boos from the audience he added, “If you ain’t gonna have fun, I’m wasting my time” before leaving the stage.
Liam, 45, later released a statement on Twitter explaining that he was suffering from a chest infection.
“Due to an ongoing chest infection, we had to cut the Lollapalooza Santiago show tonight short,” the explanation read. “Liam was diagnosed with a sinus, ear and nose infection after a European show a few weeks ago which has led to a chest infection. He has been continuing to perform and trying to push through it but unfortunately today he was finding it hard breathing on stage and wasn’t able to continue the set.”
Liam apologised to fans, explaining he was “disappointed and upset” not to be able to finish the gig and promised to perform again in the Chilean capital “as soon as possible”.
He is scheduled to continue his South American tour at Club Audio in Sao Paolo, Brazil on Wednesday (21Mar18).
