Lin-Manuel Miranda’s son caught stomach bug after newborn came home

Lin-Manuel Miranda and his wife Vanessa enjoyed one peaceful day at home with their newborn son before their eldest child caught a stomach bug.
The Hamilton creator announced that he had become a father for the second time by sharing a picture of Vanessa and their new son Francisco in a hospital bed on social media last week (end04Feb18).
During an interview for Oprah Winfrey’s SuperSoul Conversations podcast on Wednesday, Lin-Manuel revealed that their harmony as a new family of four was broken shortly after they returned home from the hospital as their three-year-old son Sebastian got sick.
“We had a day of brilliance, and my other son, when we brought him home, he was like, ‘Oh, I love him,'” he explained, according to E! News. “It was peaceful for a day. Sebastian’s three, and he got the stomach bug, so my wife and that beautiful child have been with her parents all week being sequestered, and I have been in the diarrhoea ‘upside down’,” he said, referring to the alternative dimension in TV show Stranger Things.
Oprah shared a picture of his newborn and the 38-year-old said his child already looked so different after just a week.
The actor, who is set to star in Mary Poppins Return later this year, told Oprah that he wasn’t planning to take on any work commitments following Francisco’s birth but couldn’t resist having an interview with her.
“Just got back from having a new human head on my chest. (He was born) a week ago,” he said. “I said, ‘I’m not leaving the house for two months!’ And then Oprah called. The only thing I’m leaving the house for.'”
He used the format of a script to announce Francisco’s arrival on Twitter, writing, “Int (Introduction). Hospital Room. Night. (The screams reach a delirious crescendo. FRANCISCO MIRANDA enters. He is 7 pounds and 13 ounces.) Intermission.”
