Linda Gray still speaks to late Dallas co-star Larry Hagman

Dallas actress Linda Gray still has conversations with her TV husband co-star Larry Hagman, even though he died in 2012.
The 76-year-old played Sue Ellen Ewing on the long-running soap, and admits the actor who played her power-hungry husband J.R. is never far from her thoughts.
“I talk to Larry all the time,” she told Spirit & Destiny magazine. “I have lots of conversations with him and it makes me happy.
“I don’t care that some people say, ‘Well, that’s absolutely ridiculous’. I think the spirit of a person remains forever.”
Dallas aired from 1978 to 1991 and was revived in 2012. Gray and Hagman’s characters returned for the short-lived reboot, but J.R. was killed off following the actor’s death.
For Gray, filming the character’s funeral scenes proved difficult.
“We were at JR’s graveside,” she said. “I knew it was going to be really hard for me, so I asked the producers, ‘May I please have three cameras and just do one take, because I can’t do this over and over again?’ And they said, ‘Absolutely’.”
But production difficulties meant the scene had to be shot again and again – something Gray eventually laughed off.
“It took about eight times to do it and I was absolutely fried at the end of that day,” she explained. “I looked up and said, ‘Larry, you’re messing with us, we know you’re here…!’
“When everything goes haywire in my life, I always say, ‘You’re messing with me Larry, go away!'”
