Lindsay Lohan found return to spotlight a ‘challenge’

Stepping back into the spotlight for her MTV reality show was a real “challenge” for Lindsay Lohan after spending the last few years laying low.
The Mean Girls star has lived in London, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates in recent years, and she has since reinvented herself as a businesswoman, launching a string of clubs in Europe.
She invited MTV cameras to Mykonos, Greece last year (18) to document the highs and lows of running her own company for the series Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, which launched in January (19), but being in front of the camera again took a little getting used to for the 32 year old.
“This summer, I’ve accomplished so many things,” she says in a People.com preview of the season finale. “It was a really nice experience having people from America come to Greece and show them a different life.”
“I’m usually behind the scenes there,” she adds. “(So) it was really different for me (being on camera). It was definitely a challenge for me even. It’s nice to kind of let loose and shock people and do something fun.”
However, Lindsay doesn’t expect the show to have won her any new fans: “I’m sure that people will still find a reason to hate me somehow,” she remarks.
The actress is largely portrayed as the firm but fun boss on Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club, and her creative partner Panos Spentzos is happy for the star to win employees’ favour and trust – because he enjoys being the bad cop.
“The thing about Lindsay, she knows how to run a good business,” he says. “Lindsay has a good heart. But for me, I’m the a**. I love torturing these guys.”
The finale for Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club airs in the U.S. on Monday night (25Mar19).
