Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s new track Despacito, which features Justin Bieber, has made Spotify history by becoming the first Spanish-language song to reach number one on the streaming service’s global chart.
The remix has accumulated over 25 million Spotify streams in under a week.
The smash has also become YouTube’s number one music debut of 2017, with 76.6 million views and counting, and it has also vaulted to the top spot on iTunes Overall Top Songs Chart.
Last week (ends21Apr17), Bieber stunned fans during his gig at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in Fonsi’s native Puerto Rico when he welcomed his Latin collaborator to the stage for the very first live performance of the remix.
