A man is suing bosses at a music video production company after he claims a Janet Jackson promo shoot wrecked his home.
The video for her 2015 track No Sleeep, which features Janet and hip-hop star J. Cole holed up in a mansion on a rainy night, was reportedly filmed at the home David Tate, who now alleges a production crew from Zanmi Films damaged his home.
According to editors at TMZ.com, Tate claims Zanmi staff caused extensive damage to his floors and walls, leaving him unable to live in the property for two weeks.
In legal documents obtained by the gossip website, the disgruntled homeowner alleges he had to pay for repairs himself and has not been compensated despite an agreement with Zanmi bosses to cover the cost of any damage.
He is reportedly asking for more than $1 million in damages.
The No Sleeep music video was directed by Grammy Award winner Dave Meyers, the man behind the promotional films for Janet’s 2001 track All for You, Britney Spears’ Lucky, Missy Elliott’s Lose Control, and more recently, Camila Cabello’s hit Havana.
