Margot Robbie spent her first pay cheque on her single mother

Margot Robbie used the money she earned from her first acting job to pay back her debts to her single mother, Sarie.
The duo got candid about their mother-daughter relationship in an interview with Vogue Australia’s September (19) issue. And when the physiotherapist asked the star whether she splurged after finding success on soap opera Neighbours in 2008, Margot revealed she used the money to repay loans from her mother.
“I spent it on paying you back, mum. Don’t you remember?” the Mary Queen of Scots actress laughed. “I was so in debt by the end of grade 12.
“I had everything I owed you written on a piece of paper, and every time I got a pay cheque I paid off my debt, but then I kept the piece of paper because it was so satisfying at the end to know I’d paid it all back.”
After spending three years as Donna Freedman in the popular TV series, the star went to Hollywood in 2011 where she found fame in blockbusters, including The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad and I, Tonya – which she also co-produced.
Margot currently stars in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is showing in cinemas now.
