Mariah Carey tops seasonal U.S. Holiday 100 chart for 31st week

Mariah Carey has returned to the top of America’s seasonal Holiday 100 chart with her beloved 1994 Christmas classic All I Want For Christmas Is You.
Blending streaming, airplay and sales data, Billboard chart compilers have agreed Mariah’s festive favourite remains the most popular tune at this time of year – a position it has held for most of the countdown’s eight years.
In fact, the tune has been number one for 31 of the chart’s 36 weeks.
Andy Williams’ It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year is at two on the first week of this year’s festive chart, while Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree comes in at three, followed by Burl Ives’ A Holly Jolly Christmas and Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms.
Among songs released this year, Katy Perry’s Cozy Little Christmas and John Legend’s What Christmas Means to Me are the only ones to break the top 50 – at numbers 43 and 44, respectively.
