Marilyn and TV star come to blows over bad first interview

Gender-bending 80s pop star Marilyn lashed out at journalist and broadcaster Janet Street-Porter on TV on Monday (26Sep16) for treating him badly at the beginning of his career.
The Calling Your Name singer, real name Peter Robinson, took a swipe at the outspoken Loose Women co-host when he appeared on the British show with old pal Boy George.
The 53-year-old told Street-Porter she was the first person to interview him and said, “You were vile!”
Janet attempted to defend herself on live TV, admitting she was “frightened” of the singer, adding, “You were so difficult.”
Marilyn shot back, “No, I was frightened. But now I know she was nervous, it all makes sense to me. You kept asking me all these questions, one after the next… It was more of a monologue.”
The pair quickly calmed down and Marilyn, who is promoting a new single, revealed he has his former rival Boy George to thank for helping him beat his addictions at a low point in his life.
“I am lucky to have him as a friend,” he said. “With him, if he says something, he does it. If he says something he follows it through with actions. I can trust him.”
“I was in solitary isolation for 20 years and didn’t leave the room. I didn’t want to be conscious. I didn’t know if it was day or night. I was at my mother’s house. I went to rehab to get well. You can only go so far and the next stage is death. I toyed with it, but I didn’t want to be responsible for it.”
Marilyn confessed Boy George had helped him get clean, adding, “He is an amazing person.”
