Live Free Or Die Hard star Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast to take on the female lead role in Gemini Man.
The actress will star opposite Will Smith in the movie, which follows the fortunes of an ageing assassin who finds himself in a battle within his own clone.
Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee will direct the project and Clive Owen is reportedly in talks to play the villain.
The Gemini Man concept has been floating around at Disney since 1997, but executives struggled to execute the idea with existing visual effects technology.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres in October, 2019.
