Milo Ventimiglia shocked by slum kids living on a dump in Kenya

Actor Milo Ventimiglia was left moved and troubled after meeting the kids who live on a city dump in Kenya as part of a Red Nose Day mission.
The well-travelled This Is Us star insists his trip to Dandora, which he filmed for Thursday’s (23May19) U.S. Red Nose Day telethon, was a harrowing experience, because he had never witnessed such poverty.
“It’s a very, very poor slum that’s right next to a city dump and it’s Nairobi’s actual city dump,” Milo tells Access Live. “There is not only waste from uneaten food but there’s biomedical (waste) there. There are pigs and cows and dogs defecating in all that.
“It is the worst place I’ve ever been in my life and there are kids who are there working, they’re not going to school… and they’re also looking for food…”
The actor spent time with one of the slum kids, named Agnes, and her family.
“It’s the most challenging circumstances you’ve ever seen and, for me, knowing what I know of living in Los Angeles and travelling around the U.S. or just being out in the world, I would never think to look in a place like that to understand the human experience,” he adds. “Now that I have, now I want to talk about it. Now I want people to know about it and also let people know it’s very easy to help.”
Milo will be among the many stars who will be appearing as part of the two-hour telethon this evening.
