Louis Ducruet, the son of Monaco royal Princess Stephanie, has asked Marie Chevallier to be his wife.
The couple met as students at Western Carolina University in North Carolina four years ago.
The 25-year-old is 12th in the line of succession to the throne.
Louis is Stephanie’s oldest child from her marriage to ex-husband Daniel Ducruet.
