Soul singer Natalie Cole has died.
The Grammy Award-winning daughter of jazz icon Nat King Cole was 65.
Reports suggest she died in a Los Angeles hospital early on New Year’s Day (01Jan16).
Details of her death have not been released, but she scrapped a series of recent concerts, including a New Year’s Eve (31Dec15) gig at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, due to ill health.
In her 2000 autobiography, Angel on My Shoulder, she recounted her lifelong battle with substance abuse, and in 2009, she underwent kidney transplant surgery after being diagnosed with Hepatitis C.
Her hits include This Will Be, Inseparable and Unforgettable – a stirring duet with her late dad.
