Ne-Yo’s fiancee surprised him with engagement ring

R&B star Ne-Yo was caught off guard by his fiancee Crystal Renay when she presented him with an engagement ring after insisting she didn’t want a diamond of her own.
The Sexy Love singer, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, announced the couple’s engagement in August (15), and also revealed Crystal is expecting their first child.
Ne-Yo claims his wife-to-be had initially shunned the idea of a typical proposal and declined his offer to buy her an engagement ring – only to then surprise him with a new piece of jewellery as they celebrated their impending nuptials with friends and family.
“She kind of set me up!” he laughed during an appearance on Khloe Kardashian’s U.S. talk show Kocktails With Khloe. “We planned to not do the ring thing, so I’m like, ‘Alright, cool, are you sure you don’t want a ring?’ (She said), ‘No, I’m fine, we’ll do the tattoo thing, I want something different.’
“So we get to the engagement party, she stands up and (makes an announcement) and brings out the ring. I’m like, ‘Man…!’ Two weeks later, I had to go out and get me a ring for her, and there it was, so now we got rings (sic)!”
The couple is reportedly set to tie the knot on 20 February (16), just before the birth of its baby boy, and Ne-Yo and his lady have already decided on his name.
“He’s gonna be a junior,” the new dad-to-be explained. “He’s going to be a Shaffer Chimere Smith II.”
The wedding will be Ne-Yo’s first, although he was previously engaged to Monyetta Shaw, the mother of his two young children, Madilyn and Mason. They split in 2013, and the star moved on with Crystal in the summer of 2014.
