Nelly ‘welcomes’ investigation into sexual assault allegations

Rapper Nelly “welcomes” an investigation into the sexual assault allegations against him, because he’s convinced it will help to clear his name.

The Hot in Herre hitmaker is facing new sexual assault allegations from two women in the U.K. – one, an unidentified U.S. servicewoman, claims Nelly assaulted her backstage at a show in Birmingham, England in 2016.

The married mother alleges she was invited to the VIP section by the rap star, who suggested that they move back to “another smaller room” and after spending a few hours with the woman he attempted to have sex with her and put his hand on her leg and up her dress. She stopped him from going further by “firmly” taking his hand and placing it “to the side of his leg” and left when a security guard came into the room.

Meanwhile, police officials in Essex, England are investigating claims the 43-year-old masturbated in front of another fan backstage after a Southend show in December (17). The unidentified woman also alleges he tried to take her shirt off, kiss her and forced his erect penis into her mouth.

Nelly’s lawyer has responded to the new claims, insisting an ongoing investigation will exonerate his client.

“The fact that the police are investigating these claims is not new information and Nelly welcomes a thorough investigation,” Scott Rosenblum tells AllHipHop.com.”

Nelly is confident that once investigated, these claims will be determined to be disingenuous. Nelly was accompanied by his girlfriend during this tour and she was at his side throughout. It is important that police investigate every allegation of this nature.”

The U.K. investigations come months after a third woman, 22-year-old Monique Greene, claimed Nelly raped her on his tour bus after a show in Washington. He has strongly denied her story.

Prosecutors dropped a criminal case against Nelly last year (17) because Greene would not testify. She subsequently launched a defamation lawsuit against the rapper, who subsequently confessed they did have oral and vaginal sex, but insisted it was fully consensual.
