Nicole Scherzinger in talks for Wicked movie witch – report

Former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger is reportedly in top secret talks to take on the role of Elphaba in the movie adaptation of magical musical Wicked.
The Moana star, who stunned theatre critics with her West End debut in Cats, is among the frontrunners to play the role originated on Broadway in 2003 by Idina Menzel, according to The Sun.
The film version of the Wizard of Oz prequel is set for a December, 2019 release.
A source tells The Sun, “Nicole has held early discussions with film bosses who think she’s perfect for the role of Elphaba. She’s been eyeing a career in acting for some time now, so playing the lead role in such a popular musical would be a major coup.
“There’s still some way to go before a final decision but she’s very much in the frame for the job.”
Nicole will next be seen as Penny in the TV movie adaptation of Dirty Dancing.
