Nosferatu remake in the works

Director ROBERT EGGERS is developing a remake of classic vampire movie NOSFERATU.
The Witch filmmaker will write and direct the as-yet-untitled project, based on F. W. Murnau’s 1922 silent Dracula film.
Murnau’s iconic movie was the subject of 2000’s Shadow of the Vampire, in which John Malkovich portrayed the director and Willem Dafoe played original lead Max Schreck, in a fictionalised tale of the making of the film.
In 1979, director Werner Herzog based his film Nosferatu the Vampyre, starring Klaus Kinski as Count Dracula, on Murnau’s original.
Meanwhile, Murnau hit headlines earlier this month (Jul15) when it was reported graverobbers had stolen his skull from his burial spot in Germany.
