Paloma Faith bemoans baby weight at first gig since daughter’s birth

Paloma Faith bemoaned how unfit she has become as she returned to the stage four months after having a baby on Wednesday (26Apr17).
The 35-year-old singer gave birth to a baby girl, her first child with French artist boyfriend Leyman Lahcine last December (16). She has been noticeably absent from the public eye since then, but chose Wednesday night to make her big comeback.
Paloma looked chic in a high-waisted red skirt and floral blouse with furry jacket as she arrived to perform at the launch of new London hotel and members’ club The Ned.
Despite her stylish appearance, Paloma revealed she was struggling to shed her baby weight, telling guests: “This is my first show back since having a baby and I’ve truly realised how unfit I’ve become! They say breastfeeding makes you lose weight, but that’s a lie!”
She also shared a clip of her set on Instagram and wrote, “We are back! Post partum” along with hashtags which read “God I’m unfit” and “need a week off after three songs”.
Paloma deliberately ensured she didn’t refer to her child by name, as she and Leyman appear to be doing their utmost to keep their daughter out of the spotlight.
The Stone Cold Sober singer has revealed little about the tot to fans, but did post a playful jibe against her partner earlier this month, joking about his inability to cope with sleepless nights.
“My babies (sic) father did the night shift for two nights and is acting like his life is over… oh to be a man right now! #womenarestrongerbyfar,” she wrote.
Paloma also used social media to announce the baby’s arrival, sharing a handwritten note on her Instagram page in which she revealed she had been forced to undergo an emergency Caesarean section after a “difficult labour”.
