Patrick Dempsey returning to TV in The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair

Former Grey’S Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey is heading back to the small screen in a new TV adaptation of The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair.
The actor will take on the title role in the 10-episode series, based on the bestselling 2014 novel of the same name by Joel Dicker.
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair revolves around literary icon Quebert, who finds himself implicated in the historic murder of a 15-year-old girl, who went missing years ago before her remains were found buried on his property in Maine.
Damon Wayans, Jr. and Virginia Madsen have also been cast in the drama, which is already in production in Montreal, Canada.
The show, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, is being produced by officials at MGM Television for broadcast on U.S. network Epix.
Dempsey previously portrayed Derek Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy for 11 seasons until 2015, when his beloved character was killed off the hit medical drama.
At the time, the actor admitted he had no interest in signing on for another big series as it required too big of a commitment.
“I would commit to a show that is 10 to 12 episodes. But 24 again, I don’t know if i would do that,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s a very hard life. It’s financially rewarding but there comes a point where how much is enough, really?”
