Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt has sparked rumors he is dating again, a year after his wife’s death.
Michelle McNamara was just 46 when she died in her sleep in April, 2016 after suffering from an undiagnosed heart condition, and on Wednesday (14Jun17), the funnyman hit the red carpet for new movie Baby Driver hand in hand with actress Meredith Salenger.
Meredith later took to social media to share a picture of herself and Patton in the theatre. Patton did not post any of his own pictures on Twitter, but he did re-tweet Salenger’s. Earlier this week (begs12Jun17), Meredith also shared a picture of her holding hands with someone and captioned it, “I’m super in love guys. Just FYI (for your information).”
Oswalt has not spoken out about the status of the relationship, but he has been vocal about the grief he has been experiencing since his wife’s death.
“It’s awful, but it’s not fatal,” he wrote on Facebook. “That’s the dispatch I’m sending back from exactly one year into this shadow-slog.”
And on the one-year anniversary of her passing, he revealed he had removed his wedding ring.
“I couldn’t bear removing it since April 21st, 2016,” he wrote. “But now it felt obscene. I was inviting more darkness. Removing the ring was removing the last symbol of denial of who I was now, and what my life is, and what my responsibilities are. But it’s not fatal.”
Patton and Michelle wed in 2005 and welcomed daughter Alice together in 2009.
