Police issue arrest warrant for suspect in Lil Wayne tour bus shooting

A suspect accused of firing shots at one of LIL WAYNE’s tour buses following a gig in Georgia in April (15) has been charged with multiple felonies.
The Lollipop hitmaker’s vehicle reportedly came under fire as the driver was pulling away from the Compound nightclub in Atlanta, where he had been performing.
Police allege Jimmy Carlton Winfrey shot at the bus from his vehicle to obtain higher “status” in his gang.
An arrest warrant for Winfrey reads, “Said accused did commit said act in order to gain status in his criminal organization by a committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist.
“Said accused has associated himself with known blood gang members in the Atlanta area.”
Winfrey has been charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, criminal damage, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal gang activity, reckless conduct and discharging a weapon near the street.
Winfrey has yet to be taken into custody.
It is unclear if the rapper was onboard the bus that was damaged, but no injuries were reported.
