Prince Royce invests in new fan-controlled football league

Latin singer Prince Royce has become the new owner of an American football team for a new fan-controlled sports league.
The star is the latest investor in the Fan Controlled Football League (FCFL), the first in which members of the public are in charge of everything from logo design to drafting players to coaching tactics.
Royce joins the likes of former Seattle Seahawks teammates Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch as a team owner, although he is the first musician to head up a franchise in the FCFL, reports Billboard.com.
“I’m a football fan and have always dreamt of owning a sports team,” Royce shared in a statement. “The fact that the FCFL combines sports with tech and gaming makes it the perfect league for me. I love everything about it, and it’s awesome that fans can really participate and be part of the game in a way they have never experienced before.”
Royce will also serve as his franchise’s Fan Captain, helping to shape the team brand as it prepares for the inaugural season’s launch in June (19).
