Priyanka Chopra is honoring her late father with a heartfelt dedication on the sixth anniversary of his death.
The Baywatch actress took to Instagram on Sunday (June 9, 2019) to share an image of herself as a child alongside her dad Ashok and expressed her grief over the loss.
“6 years. Seems Like just yesterday we lost you..,” she captioned the emotional post. “I miss you Dad. Inexplicably.”
Chopra’s husband Nick Jonas shared his support for the 36-year-old during the difficult time, commenting on her post with a single red heart emoji while her father-in-law Kevin Jonas Sr. had comforting words for the star.
“All our love sweet daughter-in-law. Nothing can replace such a special man but we are here to surround your heart with love and support,” he shared.
Chopra previously opened up about her father in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia last year, revealing the Daddy’s lil girl… tattoo on her right arm was crafted from his handwriting.
“I was very close to my father, this is his handwriting,” she told the publication during a video interview. “Losing my dad changed me in a big way. I think it created a space in my heart which is empty and is always going to be.”
“My dad was my biggest fan, my biggest supporter,” she added. “He loved my achievements. He was a major achiever himself. He was a very creative person. So losing that, and losing his insight on my life, I used to be angry with him after he died. I felt abandoned.”
