R. Kelly is reportedly looking for donations to help pay for Michael Jackson’s lawyer to defend him.
According to editors at TMZ, the disgraced singer is desperate to have Tom Mesereau, who successfully defended Michael Jackson against child molestation accusations, on his legal team.
Mesereau won an astonishing acquittal for the King of Pop in 2005, the same year his other client, actor Robert Blake, was found not guilty of murdering his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley.
The high-powered lawyer met with R. Kelly in a Chicago jail earlier this month (Aug19) to discuss the case, TMZ reports.
Back in February (19), it was announced the I Believe I Can Fly hitmaker was facing a total of 18 charges, including aggravated criminal sexual abuse, child pornography, kidnapping and forced labour.
