Rapper Kevin Gates sentenced to another 30 months behind bars

Rapper Kevin Gates has been sentenced to 30 months behind bars for felony gun possession.
The hip hop star appeared in court in Illinois on Wednesday (26Apr17) and pleaded guilty to the charge.
The outstanding weapons-related warrant popped up the same day he completed his prison sentence in Florida for kicking a woman in the face at one of his shows, according to TMZ.
The warrant was issued because Gates failed to appear in court for the 2013 gun case.
He has been behind bars since 30 March (17), and will now be transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The hip-hop newcomer, real name Kevin Gilyard, was scheduled to walk free from jail on 24 March (17) when the warrant was discovered and he was placed back in his cell.
He was released to travel to Illinois, where he turned himself in to police in Cook County on 29 March (17).
